Last I posted I was up near Cairns in the Daintree, now I'm down on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria
Rainforest meets the sea
Lots of crocs! I went to a place called Hartleys Crocodile Farm, super cool place!
Let's play a game of spot the croc!
Make it easy for you this time, this is in the crocodile farm part, theres about 50 little crocs in this pen
This guy has a crooked nose haha
These snakes are massive!!! One is an anaconda, I forget what the other big fella is
This guy is cute though
Same with this one haha, hes just hanging out
Very manly little frog
This guy is an inland Taipan, the most venomous snake in Australia!
Haha I think this is some sort of owl, he's a very funny looking but handsome bigger
Goana, australia's wanna-be komodo dragon
Very serious looking tiny monkey
And another koala, because, you know, they're cute!
Look at these guys! They're called cassowarys and are super cool. Like an emu crossed with dinosaur
This peacock came to check out my campsite haha
The one issue with swimming up here was the crocs, you had to go find very cold springs in order to safely swim
On the road again!
Definitely in desert. Theres donkeys, camels, and horses all in one paddock with about two blades of grass
Ayers rock! (Aka Uluru)
My noble steed Rocky
Got to go on a sunrise camel tour of Ayers rock
The Olga's (aka Kata Tjuta)
Along the base of Ayers Rock, some cool big caverns around it
The Olga's
See that one big rock in the middle of nowhere? That would be Ayers Rock haha
And we start the journey south!
To Coober Pedy
Doesn't look like much but...
Most of the town in actually underground!
People have their whole houses underground!
It's mainly an open mining town
With their own underground church
Kinda funny, this is the first tree planted in the town, built out of scrap metal
And the journey continues! Except... I hit a kangaroo and broke my headlight
Drove through a big area used for testing rockets and missiles and all that fun stuff!
Saw a couple salt lakes too, no water to be seen
Until I got to Eyre Peninsula in South Australia! Look!!! Theres penguins and sea lions!!!!
And sharks hehe
Most of the beaches had white :sand" which were actually broken sea shells
I do believe Eyre Peninsula has had the most stunning coast line I've seen, absolutely incredible, so fun to just drive along and be amazed at God's creation
It's an oyster farm!
Starfish
Big funny birds that I can't think of the name of... something like abalone but not...
And! I got to go scuba diving with great white sharks! This guy I got to see underwater!! I wish I could put videos up on here, I'll work on editing one to show some underwater pictures
Lochness monster haha
White kangaroos!!! Haha they look like giant white rats
And the journey continues east into Victoria
You know that pink Himalayan rock salt? It's all a scam, comes from this pink salt lake! Haha once again, no water to be seen in this lake
Waterfall in the Grampians National Park
This buck was wandering around the parking lot, not too worried about getting hunted here!
I promise we are getting close to the present
London Arch
Californian redwoods, no idea how they ended up in Australia though
So green in the rainforest!
12 apostles, probably the biggest tourist attraction on this route
Gibsons steps
Loch are gorge
Haha these bushes have limestone roots!
Thunder cave, the walking path goes right along the top and you would never guess there was a massive sea cave beneath your feet
The arch (I think they were running out of creativity when naming the different formations)
The grotto
Such a cool place! And we shall continue to follow this road and wherever else the wind blows! 12 more days till I get to fly home!
