Well, I made a New Year's resolution to push myself out of my comfort zone more and to be more social. It's kinda hard! I was never a very social person anyways, but coming to Australia has made me even more anti-social. I greatly enjoy my own company but it's gotten to the point where I have some serious social anxiety. So what have I done? I've gotten a job working at a very fancy cafe. I've even had to buy a dress and am learning how to use makeup. AAAHHHHH!! If you know me, you know I don't do girly things haha.

But when not pretending to know what I'm doing in the cafe, I've been able to enjoy the island. Lots of hiking and swimming. And I'm doing some coursework so that I can get my scuba diving license!

The Black Pearl has made harbor here!!

After the rain there's a whole bunch of these tiny cane toads

View of Magnetic Island from Townsville

From two weeks to two months in under two hours! My life has kinda flipped recently. I am now staying on Magnetic Island for around two months rather than returning to the cattle station. So stay tuned as I figure out what exactly my life will be looking like in the near future! But for now, how about I show ya'll some pictures of what I've been doing here on Magnetic Island over the past two weeks!

Found this little gem on one of the many beaches around here, only a couple of keys work but they're perfectly in tune!

It's a death adder! We were trying to save him as he had gotten stuck in some wire mesh but he ended up dying :( but still looks really cool! He's the only poisonous snake on the island but don't worry, no one has died from a death adder since the introduction of antivenom.

Koalas!!! 💚 this one is Claudia

 and her sister Pebbles
Mavis has a thing for eating everything including ears and the paper/pens you are trying to work with!

Its an echidna! This guy was scurrying around near my bungalow one night

 Sunsets are so pretty here

Another one of the snakes, this one is a black headed python named Sienna

And one of the wild snakes, this is a night tiger

You can feed the larikeets here everyday, they are so fun, will land on people's heads and everything!
